After an intro to the Agile Scrum framework, we will explore the positive impacts Scrum has on traditional approaches starting with the concept of the triple constraint, communications, roles & responsibilities, WBS and task assignment, scope change and ownership, dealing with schedule uncertainty, teams and statues.

The "Hows" in scrum are fairly easy, but this presentation will get us to also know the whys and that is critical because Agile Scrum does not make project and teams issues go away but actually make them more pronounced, but yet Agile and Scrum give the Agile PMs and Agile leaders the framework and guidance to how to handle them

About Karam Labban:

Karam Labban is experienced in a number of industries as an Agile and traditional PMO Project Manager, an Agile Advocate, Agile coach and trainer. He has held several elected positions at PMI Chapters: Board Member, Chapter Vice President, and as VP of Education and Certification. In addition, Karam was a Board Member at The Omaha Agile Development Group.

Prior to his career in project management, Karam was a software developer. He was also an Adjunct Faculty / Lecturer at the University of Nebraska and currently teaches Agile topics at Villanova University.

Karam holds a Master of Science Degree in Information Technology Management from Creighton University and a Bachelor of Science Degree in Computer Science with a minor in Management and Accounting from the University of Nebraska.

Continuing Certification Requirements:

Technical project management: Knowledge, skills and behaviors related to specific domains of Project, Program and Portfolio Management.

Leadership: Knowledge, skills and behaviors specific to leadership-oriented, cross-cutting activities that help an organization achieve its business goals.
