February Professional Development Event
Topic: Using LinkedIn to brand yourself and to learn from others
Mention LinkedIn to most people, and they’ll tell you that they capitalize on it when they need a new job. However, this social media powerhouse can help you build a professional network. And, it can also help its users to share information and learn from others. This session will focus on LinkedIn basics and how to build an effective network.
Specific items covered in the session include:
- What’s in your LinkedIn profile (A review of the basics for an exceptional profile.)
- What are LinkedIn’s hidden aspects?
- Professional research
- Sharing professional status
- And of course, finding that next opportunity
- How do I build an effective network on LinkedIn?
- How do I share content?
Meet Our Speaker: Matt Scherer
I help my clients and their associates communicate their ideas to new and current customers. I'm like the New England or California lighthouse that appears out of the fog to help guide people towards a harbor. In my case, it's a message or a cause. Today, my work primarily focuses on helping people update their LinkedIn profiles and to continue to embrace its use to reach others. In time, I find that many of them have an unprecedented idea that can be helped by someone who is also one of my connections. I love helping people extend their communicative outreach. That can include traditional public relations and content writing for trade publications. It may also involve podcasting services.
